World War Z | 2013 | Brad Pitt, Mireille Enos,

Brad Pitt and Mireille Enos star in Marc Foster’s action-thriller, based on Max Brooks’s novel. One seemingly ordinary morning, retired UN investigator Gerry Lane (Pitt) is at home in Philadelphia, spending time with his wife Karin (Enos) and their daughters Constance (Sterling Jerins) and Abigail (Rachel Lane). He barely registers the rolling news of a worldwide rabies infection. But it’s soon clear this is no normal virus: the pandemic turns people into zombies, and when the undead attack Philadelphia, the Lanes get caught in the panic and trapped in gridlocked traffic. They are airlifted to safety by Gerry’s former boss Thierry (Fana Mokoena) and taken to an aircraft carrier in the Atlantic, which is operating as a UN command centre.

With his family safe, Gerry then joins an armed research group that sets off on a desperately dangerous mission around the globe to trace the source of the outbreak and find a cure.
